The one with the Ambien and a bottle of wine.

Jenafer and I went on a cruise that went to Ensenada to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. More on that later. I have a funny story to share. On the last night of the cruise, after dinner, I went to the customer service desk to get an early disembarkation tag. I observed a couple in front of me getting a free deck of playing cards (each) from the customer service rep. I talked to them by the elevator and found out that all they did to get them was to ask. So I went back to our cabin without delay to get Jen so we could get our two decks. I told her the good news and we headed up.

We were waiting in line and Jen started to sway. I asked if she was feeling the movement of the boat and she said as she slurred slightly, "No, I took and Ambien 5 minutes before you got to the cabin." After Jen takes Ambien its about 10 minutes until lights out.
After waiting in line for about 10 minutes, we got our cards and headed back to the cabin. The slurring of words and the unsure footing continued to get worse. We made it to the elevator bank and waited for the elevator. The doors opened and to our bad luck 4 adults stood there and I had to guide my nearly asleep wife into the elevator. She looked like we just came from the bar. We walked in and Jen stumbled into one of the guys and then into the back wall. Once she was leaning against the back wall, she was swaying back and forth. The guy she bumped into said, with a laugh, "You know if you lean against the corner, you will have two walls to lean against." So she moved into the corner and said, "You may think, I am drrrrrunk, but I'm not. I had an Ambien." Everyone in the elevator laughed. The doors opened and we started to get out. As we did so, one of the guys said, "Yeah, an Ambien and a bottle of wine."

I asked Jen the next day if she remembered getting cards the previous night and she had no recollection after leaving the room. Good times.

The One Without the Countertops

Finally a new post! I know, I know, we lag. But the important thing is we're back. We hope to be more regular bloggers and not let school completely take over our lives. We are living in Washington, Utah which is right outside of St. George both enrolled full-time at Dixie State College. We love it. We are so happy here. Although we miss lots of things about Vegas i.e. restaurants whenever we want, Maury Sue, some people in our old ward, being closer to my Mom, etc. We know we are where we need to be right now.
One thing we are excited about at this time of year, PAJAMA SUNDAY! That's right, it's General Conference this weekend. A time to listen to prophets speak to us and guide us in these times.
I had a conversation with a friend who happened to be a member of the Jehovah's Witness church. She was particularly funny and told me, "Ya know Anderson, I've been thinking. And I think the Mormons have got something on the Jehovah's Witness' Watching church at home twice a year in your clothes of choice! Why haven't we thought of that yet?" I laughed and laughed and then told her a little about why we do it and who speaks, then I told her how wonderful it all really is, pajamas aside.
I am excited and filled with love at the thought of listening to the Prophet speak to us this weekend. I love the traditions that were instilled in me from a young age to be excited to watch General Conference. To make traditions in my new young family like being surrounded by good food, friends, family and the Spirit. I have been preparing and I am excited to find out what will be said this weekend. Come listen to a Prophets voice...
